This week we’ll be sharing some of the most stunning work we’ve ever seen- all produced at the Erich McVey workshop just a few short weeks ago. We have words from Ginny Au on her inspiration from these shoots.
When designing the vignettes for Erich Mcvey’s workshop in Elk, California I combined the natural beauty of the environment with ancient words for inspiration. For today’s double feature I used the word Nubivagant, (adj.) moving among clouds. I was inspired by the colors of the ocean at Covey’s Cove using grey and dusty blues in the details paired with simple calligraphy and texture by MK Sadler. Our table scape was understated and peaceful with draped linen for movement and hand crafted porcelain objects. The wild beauty of the florals by Sarah Winward were such an exquisite extension of the untamed beauty of Covey’s Cove.
