Nicole + Gabriel’s November wedding in Connecticut was a rustic and elegant affair complete with a tented ceremony and a lovely barn reception. We love the mix of romantic off white floral arrangements enveloped in beautiful green leaves and the charming cedar chuppa where today’s featured couple said their I Do’s. Don’t miss Nicole’s Monique Lhuillier, Madison wedding dress in pink silk Gazar. The modified trumpet shape, with hand tufted skirt and tulle underlay evokes a perfect sense of modern style but with a classic silhouette. Enjoy!

The Ceremony
Our ceremony took place in a sailcloth tent on the Winvian lawn, just after sundown in November. Though it was chilly outside, the tent was heated to create a cozy and intimate environment for the ceremony. Our guests and bridal party were seated for the ceremony, so that we could share this special moment together, just with our Rabbi – who had flown out from from our synagogue in San Francisco to be with us. Our chuppah was built from white birch, a tree native to Connecticut; the state where both the wedding took place, and where the bride’s family has resided for more than 50 years. On top of our chuppah, we had a tallit (jewish prayer shawl) from Gabriel’s grandfather, and table cloth crocheted by Nicole’s maternal great-great-grandmother. It was important to us that our wedding canopy reflected the history of both of our families as we committed to sharing our futures together.
The Reception
Our reception was in a converted barn called the Gordon Brown House. The space was naturally beautiful, so we kept decor simple with wood farm tables, low ivory bouquets and mercury glass votives. We wanted to make sure that our guests felt cared for, so we paid close attention to details, like our personalized menus for each guest. Dinner was concluded with a dessert bar, featuring a variety of pastries from Winvian’s award winning pastry chef, Jim Hutchison. While all the desserts were delicious, our favorite was our red velvet wedding cake topped with two personalized puffin birds! We finished the night with hours of dancing, some apple cider donuts and a sparkler farewell…before heading to the after party!
Nicole’s Dress Search
I probably tried over 20 dresses over the course of two days. I loved my dress because of the warm blush color and that it made me feel glamorous but not over the top.
