If you’re planning an outdoor wedding (or in this case, elopement!) and are unsure of how to design and decorate the space, then allow us to suggest taking inspiration from the environment around you. Nature always provides the most beautiful settings, so working alongside what’s given to you, instead of working against it, will result in a design that looks and feels like it was meant to be there.
For Michelle and Jeff’s elopement, that meant paying attention to the colors and textures of the mountain top views: whites, blues, greens and greys worked their way into the overall wedding palette. The bridal bouquet is minimal, while feeling wild. The ceremony “arch” appears to be growing naturally and freely, as though the couple just stumbled across this perfect spot.
Read on for more about the inspiration behind this shoot, by photographers Abigail of A Thomas Photography (one of our Premium Vendors!) and Simply Sarah Photography:
“Styled by Lacy Geary, this mountaintop elopement inspiration has all of the feels. The wind was so strong at times, we vendors had to hold onto one another & our equipment to make sure we didn’t blow over! However, it was the perfect, natural addition to the romance that this shoot evokes, and it caused the most beautiful movement in the Alexandra Grecco gown. Jennifer Nieman created a hair & makeup look that made us feel like we had stepped right out of Pride & Prejudice. Kate Asire’s floral design was based off of the natural beauty of the mountaintop, & the arbor she crafted was the perfect backdrop to the (real couple) models’ love. Handwritten vows & a dreamy invitation suite from Owl Post Calligraphy evoked so much emotion & romance. We had so much fun hiking (yes…hiking!) up the mountain to capture Michelle & Jeff’s love.”
