From Jessica Blass, the Photographer:
“Peonies and ranunculus are beautiful, but what if there’s a new star floral in weddings? In the springtime, there’s a flower that blooms in the south for just a couple weeks: dogwoods. They’re not your typical wedding flower, which is exactly why we wanted to take a chance on these floating florals. We knew we wanted to revolve this project around these lovely blooms, tied in with a monotone color palette. We strived to make the dogwoods the focus of this editorial, as well as incorporating ivory into every design element – the bridesmaid dresses, invitation suite, table runner, etc.
Because the dogwoods stole the show, we decided to keep the overall theme very timeless and elegant. While BHLDN has some unique gowns, we loved the Jillian on Caroline, as it had a more classic appeal (not to mention that the Jillian comes with the ability to customize the dress to your liking!). With a more a classic and refined approach to this project, we knew the Swan House in Atlanta would provide the perfect backdrop as our venue. While the Swan House is magnificent in appeal, we knew it wouldn’t steal the show over the dogwoods. While your typical bride or wedding guest may not choose a specific floral as their main design element, we were excited to execute a dogwood-inspired wedding. (And of course, hoping that brides will take a similar approach to their own wedding.)”
