Today’s featured wedding comes to us from the outskirts of Winnipeg, complete with rustic charm, woodsy and vintage touches and a beautifully detailed Jenny Packham, Esme wedding dress. Kudos to Megan for leaving no stone unturned in Winnipeg searching for her dream dress before finding ‘The One’ in Vancouver. This gown is love at first sight for us too – hand sewn bead work, a figure flattering sheath silhouette with a delicate and feminine open draped back. Just perfect!

The Ceremony
Our wedding was a whimsical, rustic, celebration in my parents backyard. The color palate included a variety of whites, creams, blushes and beiges, along with accents of burlap and wood elements for texture. We wanted a soft and relaxing feel for our guests. It was a stunning contrast with the bright green grass and backyard setting. We also could not have picked a more perfect venue than my parent’s backyard – over the years they have hosted numerous occasions for family, friends and almost every guest at the wedding. It was definitely a location close to our hearts.
The Reception
We had a tented reception in my parent’s back yard for 150 of our guests. The backdrop to the head table and the poles were made of full size trees to add to the rustic atmosphere. Our MC led an open mic roast of the bride and groom for speeches. Summer Bounce Entertainment led a variety of group dances way into the night, dancing all night until only candlelight was left.
Megan’s Dress Search
I went to every single (not an exaggeration) dress shop in Winnipeg. I did not leave a stone unturned. I knew my “must haves” were a sheath style dress with some form of sleeves. That was my criteria. I lost count; I must have tried on at least 100 dresses in Winnipeg before visiting some family in Vancouver and decided to give dress shopping a whirl out there. My best friend had sent me a “pin” on Pinterest of Jenny Packham’s, Esme gown. I never thought in a million years I would have a chance to try on that dress. Once I booked my flight to Vancouver I discovered one of the stores out there had the gown in stock. I went to one dress shop in Vancouver and all I could think of was just at least trying on “that dress” to see if it was as beautiful in person as it was in print. I had an appointment the next day but I could not wait, I went into Bliss Bridal and begged them to let me just try on that one dress, even without an appointment. I got the dress on – it took me less than five seconds to cancel all the rest of my appointments in Vancouver, forget the endless amount of dresses I had tried on in my journey and say yes. It truly did feel much like a fairy tale.
I feel like “why choose this dress” does not require an explanation. I can honestly say it is truly the most beautiful dress I have ever seen, tried on and could ever imagine wearing for my wedding day.

Why Megan Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I have decided to sell my dress because our photographers and videographers did such an amazing job capturing our day I feel like I have every memory of the dress I want. If I do not get to sell it I would be happy to hold on to it but I would be thrilled to see another bride enjoy this gown as much as I did. I’m happy to pass along the opportunity!
