After creating lots of special memories growing up near the town of New Harmony, Indiana, Megan + Austen knew it would be the perfect location for their intimate, outdoor ceremony and banquet style reception. I love the really unique Roofless Church and the dome like sculpture where Megan + Austen said ‘I do.’ Don’t miss Megan’s Claire Pettibone sheath, strapless gown called Larissa…Such a perfect choice of dress when opting for a relaxed, yet elegant style wedding: featuring lovely, subtle details in light antiqued pink made from french cotton and tulle. So pretty!

The Ceremony
Our wedding was held a few short weeks after I had graduated with my Bachelor’s degree. We decided to have our wedding at the Roofless Church in New Harmony, IN, which is a historic town full of beautiful architecture. This wonderful little town is nearby where both Austen and I grew up, and through visiting the town in the past through field trips growing up, and as an adult (just for fun), we decided it was the perfect place to get married! We had a very relaxed, yet elegant ceremony. The Roofless Church is just as it is described, a church with only walls, and a lovely sculpture in the middle under which we were married. The weather was perfect that day, so the ceremony turned out wonderful, complete with a string quartet to serenade us in and out of the church!
The Reception
Our reception was held just down the road from our ceremony, which made the transition very easy and quick. We had also taken most of our pictures prior to the ceremony, which also saved us some time. Even though it was an early wedding, we had a lot of fun with all of our family and friends, and danced the afternoon away!
Megan’s Dress Search
I was never the type to dream about my wedding day before I was engaged, but as soon as I started looking at dresses, I found that I did have a specific style that I liked. I did want a more casual-feeling dress that would be comfortable to wear all day, but I also loved the look of romantic styles vintage dresses. When I happened upon Claire Pettibone’s Larissa dress, I knew it would be the dress I would wear.

Why Megan Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I would like another bride to be able to have the perfect dress for their wedding day at a more reasonable cost. It has just been sitting in my closet, and a dress as wonderful as this needs to be worn more often!
