There are so many beautifully unique options for weddings available, and I love learning about them! Marc’enna and Derrick were married in their family church, but celebrated their reception at the brand new San Diego library. The futuristic, airy space was absolutely gorgeous, and to accent the modern venue, the couple chose a crisp black and white theme. Marc’enna was a stunning bride in her lacy Berta Bridal gown, from the 2012 collection. As her “something old” she wore her grandmother’s ring in her hair — look for it in the photos!

The Ceremony
Derrick and I were married in our family church; our faith is very important to us so it was important that our ceremony be in the midst of our church service. I decided to wear my grandmother’s ring in my hair as my “something old.” She’s had it for over twenty years.
The Reception
The city of San Diego just recently built a brand new library. That is where Derrick and I chose to have our reception. It was a beautiful venue in the heart of downtown. You can see the entire city perched from the 9th floor where our venue space was. Also because Derrick and I were one of the first to have a wedding in the library, we were featured on the local news which was fun.
Marc’enna’s Dress Search
I tried on about 30-40 dresses before settling on the Berta dress. I chose it because it had everything that I was looking for. It was modern and still vintage; it was sexy and still elegant. Once I had it on I did not want to take it off. That is how I knew that was my dress.

Why Marc’enna Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
This dress was perfect for me. I would love to keep it in my closet and wear it around my house. It is too beautiful to be kept in a closet. So I decided to pass it on to someone else who will love it as much as I do.
