This rustic farm wedding is full of DIY goodness. We love that the couple did every (gorgeous) thing from scratch and how special the venue was to them. Mackenzie’s lace and tulle Haley Paige Halo gown was the perfect choice for the venue. And her dress story is the sweetest. Your Monday will be prettier with this Real Wedding in it!

The Wedding
Our wedding was held on my relative’s farm – completely DIY! The weather turned out perfectly and we were able to hold the ceremony outdoors beside the cornfields; the reception was immediately after, inside the barn. This barn has been in my family for over 120 years! We did everything from scratch with help from our florist and an awesome event company out of Dayton, Ohio.
Mackenzie’s Wedding Dress Search
I tried on approximately 20-30 dresses and visited a total of 3 stores. I found my dress (the halo gown by Hayley Paige) at the second store and it was an immediate favorite among my family and friends. I definitely liked it, but wasn’t able to fully commit. After visiting another store and trying on many more dresses, I just couldn’t get the halo gown out of my mind! I went back to try it on – the day after Christmas 2016 – and immediately I was hit with the cliché tears; in that moment, I knew it was my dress. Unfortunately, it was beyond my budget, but my mother generously offered to help me cover the difference.
How She Felt In Her Wedding Dress
My dress made me feel confident, comfortable and bridal! This was everything I wanted from a wedding dress. I loved that the dress was simple and unique all at once. It fit like a dream without being tight, itchy, or too heavy. I could eat and dance freely! I also got SO many compliments. I felt like a princess. I never had one regret when it came to my beautiful wedding gown and I only hope to pass the perfection on to another deserving bride!
Why She’s Selling Her Wedding Dress
So that another bride can experience and love this beautiful gown without having to break her budget and so I can repay my mom for the most wonderful gift.
