Loren + Houston | Vera Wang Wedding from Julie Bailey Photography
Loren + Houston’s candle lit wedding in New Orleans’ French Quarter was an elegant and classy affair with an awesome dance party reception. I love that the night was finished off with a surprise Second Line parade that looked exuberant and super memorable. Don’t miss Loren’s romantic Vera Wang gown, Farrah, complete with ruched French tulle one-shoulder bodice and a flange skirt made with layers of hand-painted tulle and tissue organza in shades of blush, ivory, and platinum. Music to our ears!
Loren + Houston | September 21, 2013 | French Quarter, New Orleans, Louisiana | Dress Listing: Vera Wang, Farrah
The Ceremony It was an intimate candle lit ceremony in a historic converted bank building. We hired a string trio to really set the tone – the result was very elegant and classy.
The Reception The reception was a big dance party with all of our friends and family. Everyone enjoyed traditional New Orleans cuisine and an open bar. The reception ended with a Second Line parade, which was a surprise for our guests, and many said was the highlight of their evening!
Loren’s Dress Search I tried on about 40 dresses and this one from Vera Wang was just too stunning to pass up. My husband and I are both Architects and we really appreciate refined products with beautiful details. The layering of material, hand-painted tulle, and overall composition were just perfect. I received so many compliments on this dress! And it really showed through in our photos. The color was fresh and unexpected, the style was unique and modern, and the gown still made me feel like a bride.
How Loren Felt in Her Wedding Dress Stunning, Unique, Sophisticated
Why Loren Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress We have some wonderful photo and video footage from our wedding weekend, so I didn’t want to hold on to such a beautiful dress when I know there are lots of other brides out there looking for such a stunning and unique gown for their wedding. I appreciate the tradition of passing down dresses, but I’m not going to hold my breath on that one. We’ve got our memories and I’m happy to pass the dress along for someone else to enjoy!
