Lauren + Preston | Romona Keveza Wedding from Susan Jackson Photography

Diligently searching, Lauren devoted a full year to finding and purchasing her perfect wedding dress…However, just month’s before Lauren + Preston were to tie the knot, they attended a close friend’s wedding, only to discover that the bride was wearing Lauren’s same Mon Cheri gown! But not to worry, like the stunning and resourceful gal that Lauren is, she turned to PreOwnedWeddingDresses to list her original dress choice.  And with just one month before the big day, today’s featured bride fell in love all over again but this time with a gorgeous Romona Keveza couture blush fit-to-flare gown.  I mean wow…Lauren you are such a champ and an absolutely beautiful bride!

The Ceremony
Our ceremony was held at the gorgeous Graham Chapel on the campus of Washington University. When asked about the most exciting part of planning the wedding, my response was that I enjoyed incorporating family history and traditions into the day. For instance, my maternal grandmother graduated from Washington University in 1954, I wore my paternal grandmother’s pearl bracelet as my something old, and I wrapped my great-grandmother’s blue handkerchief around my bouquet as my something blue. My mother’s diamond earrings were my something borrowed – clearly she needed those back!

The Reception
I knew that I wanted to hold my reception in Forest Park, the site of the 1904 World’s Fair and a source of many childhood memories. My great-grandfather actually started his business during the World’s Fair by wiring the Palace of Eternity and other event venues. We decided to hold the reception in the historic Lindell Pavilion, a building that sheltered streetcars for the fair events. To that end, we thought it was only fitting to use a trolley as our wedding transportation! To incorporate a bit of romanticism to the reception, we added gold up-lighting, ivory drapery, and a crystal chandelier. Our florist completely brought my vision into reality by combining hydrangeas and magnolia leaves with a myriad of mercury glass vases and candles! After cocktails and a seated dinner, our guests enjoyed dancing to Accolade and savoring the Tropical Moose snow cones (those over the age of 21 got to add a shot of liquor)! We even had a cigar bar to pay tribute to Preston’s Tampa, Florida roots.

Lauren’s Dress Search
I started my dress search approximately one year prior to our wedding, and I ended up purchasing an ivory fit-to-flare Kathy Ireland for Mon Cheri gown. As fate would have it, I attended my friend’s wedding a few months prior to mine, and she walked down the aisle in the same dress! We purchased our dresses from different bridal salons in Atlanta, but I was unable to return my dress since I had already started alterations. Unsure what to do, a close friend suggested PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com. What a lifesaver! I found my gorgeous Romona Keveza couture blush fit-to-flare gown the month prior to my wedding, and I couldn’t have been happier!
