The Ceremony
The theme for our wedding was what I liked to call bohemian chic. I wanted it to have rustic details but also feel glamorous. Our ceremony was outside on the most gorgeous day, on top of a mountain, underneath a pergola made entirely of branches and wood found on the property of the Garrison. Mason jars full of fresh flowers were placed on the aisle chairs and guests who arrived via yellow school buses were greeted with a ukulele player performing. He played “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” when I walked down the aisle with my Dad. We were surrounded by our closest friends and family and they all threw colorful confetti and blew bubbles when we said “I Do”. This made for the perfect pictures!
The Reception
During cocktail hour, we had a steel drum band perform so that our guests could all be mentally transported to the tropics. Guests were able to sip cocktails and enjoy the most incredible sunset outside before dinner. The reception room was beyond my expectations. There were floor to ceiling windows so everyone could take in the amazing views and my “bohemian chic” details were showcased in everything from our centerpieces (my Dad cut up hundreds of pieces of wooden branches from our backyard to make coasters for our votive candles to sit on) to the burlap table runners and sprigs of lavender in each of the table settings. We had the best DJ and we danced the entire night.

I tried on seven dresses before spotting this amazing Claire Pettibone, Chantilly dress. It was actually the second one I tried on so the rest of the dresses could just never compare. I work in fashion so I can really appreciate the details on this dress and the craftsmanship that went into it. It’s a work of art.
