Mason jars and burlap and barns, oh my! Lauren and Dan were married in a grove surrounded by huge oak trees and their friends and family in a very rustic fall ceremony. The celebration continued in the historic Williams Barn with some delicious looking cupcakes, a candy bar and of course: lots of dancing and the traditional horah!

The Ceremony
The park is fairly remote with lots of trees and open fields. My husband’s family is Jewish so we incorporated many elements of a traditional ceremony. We held the ceremony outside in the park between two large oak trees while we stood under our handmade chuppah in front of family and friends.
The Reception
The Williams Barn is one of the oldest buildings in the city of San Marcos, it was relocated to the park and recently renovated. We complemented the rustic elements of the barn and outdoors with stylings of burlap and mason jars and contrasted those with elegant touches of lace with chiffon draping over the open beams of the barn ceiling. It was a perfect day and I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
Lauren’s Dress Search
I started my search with a similar style in mind but a different designer. I found a bridal shop that had a sample of the dress I had been eyeing so I went to try it on. I did and it was just…ok. The owner of the shop could tell that it wasn’t “the one” so she suggested I try on the Ulla-Maija dress. I had seen it on the rack, but was unsure of how I felt about the one shoulder, but I tried it on anyway. I instantly knew this was the dress I would get married in! My mom cried and I didn’t want to take it off and it was the sample which didn’t even fit that well!
How Lauren Felt in Her Wedding Dress
I felt perfect, stunning and just breathtaking. The dress is custom-made so it fit me just right.
Why Lauren Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I had thought going into it that I would sell the dress after the wedding, but after I felt too sentimental and attached that I couldn’t bring myself to list her. After lots of consideration I gave in realizing that she isn’t benefitting anyone hanging in a closet. She is so beautiful that I would like to give her a second life on another beautiful bride.
