This classic black tie wedding in Plymouth, Michigan is so charming. We love the gorgeous chapel ceremony and the elegant ballroom reception decorated in ivory and blush – such a perfect setting for Karla’s romantic and playful Lian Carlo wedding dress. This gown’s A-line silhouette with embroidered tulle and Swarovski crystals looks so magical as Karla + Andrew walk down the aisle and when they float across the dance floor in each others arms. Just perfect!

The Ceremony
We had an intimate Catholic ceremony in the historic St. John’s Inn chapel in Plymouth, Michigan. The impressive chapel needed very little decorations as it has beautiful stained glass windows, woodcarvings and an elaborate stone floor. The setting was romantic with beautiful violin music playing and a close friend singing during the ceremony. The best part of our ceremony was having all our loved ones coming together from all over the world, supporting us, and witnessing our marriage.
The Reception
Our reception took place in a ballroom also at St. John’s Inn. We went for a classic elegance theme, with ivory and blush decor all wrapped up in candlelit ambiance. Once the formalities were over and due to my Mexican heritage, we had a Mariachi band surprise our guests! This was the turning point for an amazing dance party! My handsome groom and I danced the night away!
Karla’s Dress Search
I had tried over twenty dresses at different boutiques and hadn’t really felt like I was in love with a dress. My last appointment was during a Lian Carlo trunk show. I was not familiar with the designer, but I liked the dresses being displayed. When my consultant brought over my dress, I was hesitant to try it on since I never pictured myself picking a gown that had embroidery and crystal details. However, the dress’ beautiful tulle skirt and color with hints of blush got me really excited. I absolutely loved how it looked and made me feel…especially the color! It was so me!

Why Karla Decided to Sell Her Dress
I would hate it if I this dress were to just sit in a box forever; it’s meant to be worn!
