This traditional Chicago wedding was a lovely event with such a heartfelt family focus. I love that Julia + Tim were able to celebrate the beginning of their life together with Julia’s 12 year old daughter, Gabrielle. I get goosebumps just looking at the exchange between Tim and his new step-daughter. Tragically, Gabrielle lost her biological father four years ago and Julia explains, “She is so, so happy to have a ‘second chance’ with a new dad. Tim is an incredible father to her, especially considering he has never had children of his own.” So special, truly. Congrats to this beautiful family and thank you for sharing Julia + Tim!

The Ceremony
The ceremony was a very traditional catholic one with a full mass. I had been a parishioner
of St. Gertrude Parish for many years. The church is a beautiful, old building with gorgeous stained glass windows and artwork built into the walls.
The Reception
The reception was semi traditional but without a lot of the every day add ons. ie no receiving line, we chose to sit at a head table with our parents instead of our wedding party. It was very modern and done in a loft space with open ceilings and beautiful skylights.
Julia’s Dress Search
I imagined myself in a trumpet style dress with not too much detail but not too simple as well. My dress was the one and only dress I ever tried on! I knew it was the one right when I put it on. Kind of the way I felt after my first date with my husband.
How Julia Felt in Her Wedding Dress
I felt stunning, classy, and still a bit sexy in my dress.
Why Julia Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I’m selling the dress (as painful as it is) because I feel it is too beautiful to put into a box that will sit in storage for the rest of my life. I won’t ever wear it again so it is silly to not sell it.
