Jessy + Mike | Lazaro Wedding from Inku Photography

The forecast called for rain…and even after half their ceremony decor was being moved indoors for plan B, Jessy and Mike made a game-time decision just as the clouds parted and the sun came out for their Addison Park outdoor ceremony. But thank goodness they took a chance with the weather, because the outcome was so worth it: white draped fabrics with dramatic pillar backdrop, rose petaled aisle and an exquisite Lazaro gown that made Jessy feel like a “Beautiful, couture princess”.  I love that! Congrats to the beautiful couple and don’t miss all of Jessy’s DIY’ed details for their reception.

Happy New Year Everyone!

The Ceremony
Our wedding was held in the afternoon, outdoors at Addison Park. We were very lucky to have it outdoors considering we encountered a major rainstorm that morning. By 10:30 in the morning, our ceremony set-up was in the process of being moved to an indoor ceremony when suddenly, the rain stopped.  So at the very last minute I took a chance and had everything moved back outside! We were so glad the sun came out for a good hour. We had rose petals down the aisle with six hydrangea balls set up by the aisle and white drapes around the area. It was a modern, classic wedding with a touch of vintage.

The Reception
Although, it was a day wedding, we had up lighting done in the reception room to create a romantic atmosphere. We had two different centerpieces. We reused the centerpieces from the ceremony and put them in a different vase. The other tables had three different cylinder vases with roses, calla lilies and hydrangeas in each of them hanging over the vases surrounded by petals and candles. Fun DIY touches included at the reception were: place cards, menus (designed with a lace background to have that vintage look), table numbers, the jars of honey that said “Meant To Bee”, our moneybox, sign in poster and “Mr. & Mrs.” feather signs by our chairs (made by our friend).

Jessy’s Dress Search
I started looking for dresses in bridal magazines and saw the one I actually bought. I knew I wanted a sweetheart strapless gown. Once I tried on the dress, I knew that this was “THE” dress right away.

Why Jessy Decided To Sell Her Wedding Dress
I’m selling my dress because when I first found out the price of my dress, it was over my budget.  So I said to myself if I sell it, I can hopefully get some money back, share my beautiful dress with someone else who doesn’t want to pay full price for it and in the end I still wear the dress I fell in love with! I originally had tried looking for the dress on PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com, but it wasn’t available yet since the dress was in a new season.

On a separate note, we are Chinese, so I had a traditional red dress that I wore as well. I wanted to keep my culture to wear a red dress, but I wanted a modern twist, so I had someone custom make me a red mermaid satin dress with lace embroidery and diamond back, which I am selling on your site as well. I loved it!
