From the refined classic cathedral ceremony to the raucous celebratory atmosphere of the contemporary ballroom reception, Jessica and Mike’s fall wedding had something for everyone…including samba dancers and acrobatic capoeiristas. The newlyweds extended the special memories by having post-wedding day after wedding portraits, highlighting Jessica’s amazing lace Lazaro wedding dress. We love the energy of this wedding!
Jessica + Mike | October 25, 2014 | Toronto, Canada | Dress Listing: Lazaro, 3201
The Ceremony
We were married in a traditional catholic ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in downtown Toronto surrounded by family and friends. It’s a beautiful old cathedral built in 1852. It has stunning frescos on the ceiling and a beautiful bell tower which still functions today.
The Reception
Our reception was held at Pearson Convention Centre which has a grand lobby with soaring ceilings, massive crystal chandeliers and contemporary decor. Our wedding occurred in autumn so our decor reflected the fall season but with a magical twist. We had a stunning flower chandelier over the head table which was made of orchids, branches, berries and calla lilies. We had approximately 230 friends and family celebrate with us that night and boy, was it a party for the ages!! We had samba dancers, tango dancers and even an impromptu performance by one of our guests of Jon Legends “All of Me”. Everyone danced until the lights came on … they literally had to kick us out! It truly was a spectacular and unforgettable night.
Jessica’s Dress Search
I only went to four or five boutiques and probably tried on 20 dresses, but I literally knew the minute I put on this dress that it was the one for me! It had the classic element of lace, the bottom had the element of dreaminess and drama and the sash was flashy yet sophisticated. I fell in love with it immediately!
How Jessica Felt in Her Wedding Dress
Sophisticated. Bold. Sexy.
Why Jessica Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I want another woman to have the opportunity to wear such an absolutely stunning dress at a fraction of the price. The dress here in Toronto retails at approximately $8,200 before tax so it’s on the expensive end of the spectrum and may not be accessible financially to some ladies. So instead of having the dress collect dust, I decided to share the joy of this dress!
