Janette + David | Kenneth Pool Wedding from Veronica Lola Photography

In a word, Janette + David’s peacock inspired wedding from Point Pleasant, New Jersey is iridescent! The duchess satin and the Swarovski crystals surrounding the bust of Janette’s Kenneth Pool gown ‘Romantic’ makes today’s featured bride perfectly radiant and glowing…not to mention so glamorous.  Don’t miss the very fun and playful bridal shoot that was taken at Point Pleasant Jenkinson’s Boardwalk just a couple of months before Hurricane Sandy devastated the Jersey Shore.  Janette explains: Everyone on the boardwalk was so friendly and welcoming! The game attendants let us play the games for free for the photos and the ocean was the perfect backdrop. It was a great experience.

Janette + David | August 25th, 2012 | Point Pleasant, NJ

The Ceremony
The ceremony was located at Bay Head Chapel in Bay Head, NJ. I fell in love with this chapel and knew that I had to be married there. The 120 yr old chapel is located a block away from the beach and looks like it could be right out of Nantucket. It had all the charm and beauty that I dreamt of as a little girl. I did not use many decorations inside the chapel as the interior was stunning in itself and I did not want to take away from its natural beauty.

The Reception
We chose The Lobster Shanty Sunset Ballroom in Point Pleasant, NJ. Situated right on the Manasquan inlet, it was the perfect backdrop to an even more perfect day. It was slightly overcast with a wonderful breeze, which for August was a gift from the Wedding Gods!!! Everyone enjoyed cocktail hour outside on the deck to watch the sunset over the water. We were sold once we saw the view and the stunning chandeliers that lit the room. We always knew that we wanted to get married at the beach, as I grew up on Long Beach Island and Dave spent his summers in Point Pleasant. The banquet room is lined with windows so that the view is never missed from any angle.

We chose a peacock themed wedding as the colors are bright, vibrant, and really stood out in the photographs. Everything was peacock; from the bridesmaids dresses, clutch bags, boutonnieres

, invitations, programs, menus, centerpieces, and color of the flowers. My flowers were truly the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen. The day was everything I had imagined, and more.

Janette’s Dress Search
I had searched online endlessly for dresses! I had a Lazaro in mind when I went to my first dress shop, I was certain this beaded sheath dress was my gown… that is until I tried it on. It just was not for me. I had never thought that I would want a drop waist/mermaid style gown. However the bridal consultant encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and try a mermaid style dress on. It was from that moment that I knew I had found my shape, now I just needed to find the right dress.  The day I found my perfect dress I went on my own. With just the bridal consultant and me I had found the one! When she pulled the dress, I did not even want to try it on, but she convinced me. I put on my ‘Romantic’ Kenneth Pool gown and immediately fell in love. I knew from that moment that this dress would make me feel like the most beautiful bride in the world. From the Swarovski crystals surrounding the bust, the luxurious duchess satin, the beautiful bustled skirt, the sweetheart neckline, I wish I could wear it everyday!

How Janette Felt in Her Dress
I felt like the elegant princess I had always dreamed of! It was old Hollywood glamor at its best!

Why Janette Decided To Sell Her Wedding Dress
I decided to sell my dress because I wanted to give another bride the opportunity to feel as beautiful as I did on my wedding day. I made sure that no fabric was cut so that it would not limit the brides who might want to wear it. It makes me feel good that another bride will hopefully get to wear this unbelievably beautiful designer gown for just a fraction of the cost.
