For me, weddings are so much more than just a single day. Weddings are the culmination of a lifetime of people, relationships, personalities and tastes as well as the beginning of a new direction. New hopes and dreams and aspirations. So I approach my photography for weddings with an all-encompassing view.
I don’t just do posed editorial type photos, or pure photojournalism. And I don’t focus on just the details, or just the traditional family portraits. I try and focus on every single one of these elements to give a full and cohesive picture of the event. Because it’s not about one thing or another, it’s about ALL of those things coming together. The emotions of the day, the parents walking you down the aisle and the grandparents smiling in their seats, the partying at night, and the sweet details in your dress and shoes – I photograph all these different elements that tell the story of each unique wedding, while keeping my photos soft, natural and beautiful. Because I want my clients to love their photos 10 months after the wedding as well as 50 years down the road, I really go for a look that’s both modern and elegant, but also timeless. Nothing fancy or over the top. Just loveliness that will stand the test of time.
