We love the elegance and laid back feel of this woodland outdoor wedding ceremony and reception. Channeling the whimsy of the forest, Hannah looks beautiful in her feminine lace sleeved Tara Keely wedding gown paired with a lovely floral crown and a woodsy inspired bouquet. Don’t miss the mix and matched bridesmaid dresses in green and gold or the fun display of donuts from the couple’s favorite mom-and-pop shop. Thanks for sharing Hannah + Christopher and congrats!

The Ceremony
Our simple, outdoor ceremony was held in a wooded lot of a historic water mill site. Some of my favorite memories include walking down the isle to a modern version of “Come thou fount”, almost accidentally kissing my groom too soon after the unity candle, and seeing all our guest’s loving and smiling faces upon our exit. Leading up to our wedding we were so anxious of potential storms but the weather was a perfect breezy August day.
The Reception
For our reception, we were hoping for an elegant and woodland feel with all our guests gathered together in another wooded area of the water mill site. For dinner, we enjoyed casual Cajun food and for dessert, we had donuts from our favorite local mom-and-pop shop. Some of our best friends from college sang our first dance song after which we enjoyed the celebration with all of our closest friends and family. August 2, 2014 was our dream come true!
Hannah’s Dress Search
For my dress search I tried on probably thirty dresses over the course of several months. I tried on many different styles and different prices. I chose the one I did because it was perfect! It was so unique and so me! I wanted something with sleeves and an empire waste. I felt comfortable in it and it was figure flattering. Plus it was a subtle blush pink…and I fell in love.

Why Hannah Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I don’t feel an emotional attachment to my dress and it was a budget splurge. It was beyond perfect for the day and worth every penny… but now that my wedding is over I have my marriage to be in love with, not the wedding dress. If some other bride can feel beautiful in a light blush ball gown… then I want her to have the dress for her special day!
