From the Stylist and Floral Designer Janelle:
This inspiration was near and dear to my heart, unlike any other wedding inspiration collaboration I have put together in the past. In college I spent a year studying art, color, and painting in Florence, Italy. I knew going into this shoot in a small village in Tuscany, I wanted to highlight all the color tones I remembered so fondly from those days – terra cotta, vibrant greens and copper accents. I packed my bag with my basic floral tools, and some styling elements that I love to work with state side – then sourced all other elements abroad from the farmers, flea markets and local flower shops. When we arrived at the villa, I foraged for seasonal foliage.
Making it true to our location, the table design displays a typical Italian meal, with the runners the traditional Italian way instead of the way we are used to seeing them in the states. My passion to design environmentally (by sourcing objects and goods from the surrounding areas, and telling a story with that collection of items), helped to tell the story of the colors, textures, and warmth I remember so fondly from my time living and falling in love with Italy.
