New Year’s eve makes for an extra special wedding date, as you’ll see with today’s feature wedding from Gina and Jesse. Their indoor/outdoor ceremony and reception were filled to the brim with seasonal celebration and surprises including masks, cigar lounge and a confetti explosion at midnight! Black tie all the way, everyone was dressed to the nines, including the bride in her stunning Liancarlo wedding gown perfectly accessorized with a white wrap, all-white bouquet and a smile that lit up the night. The Ceremony
Jesse and I got married in the Rotunda Room at the Bacara Resort and Spa directly below a gorgeous wrought iron chandelier dripping with flowers. Since the room was round we had our guests arranged in a circle so they were literally surrounding us on all sides. Our family and bridal party entered to the instrumental version of A Thousand Years by Christina Perri and I walked down the aisle to Jeff Buckley’s acoustic version of Hallelujah.
The Reception
After the ceremony we moved the guests outside for cocktail hour under the stars. We met in New Orleans so our seating cards were masquerade masks that guests could use as props later in the evening. After cocktail hour we went inside for a sit down dinner and night of dancing to a live band. Since it was New Year’s eve we had several surprises for our guests starting with gift boxes on their chairs and ended the night with a confetti cannon at midnight. We had an “open air photobooth” and cigar lounge set up on the terrace for guests to enjoy throughout the night. We closed out the evening at 1 a.m. with late night snacks of french toast bites and chicken and waffles.
Gina’s Dress Search
My mom had seen my Liancarlo gown in a magazine and fell in love with it. When we went dress shopping for the first time I didn’t have a clue what I wanted and just planned to try a variety of shapes and styles to see what might look best on me. In our initial conversation with the bridal consultant I showed her the venue, and filled her in on the details we had nailed down for our black tie/NYE wedding. She said she had two dresses that came directly to mind that would be perfect, and as it turned out one was the Liancarlo gown that my mom had already fallen in love with.
As soon as I put it on I fell in love, but I wasn’t quite ready to say yes to the dress since it was SUCH a huge decision. I went dress shopping five more times but kept coming back to the Liancarlo gown. It was the perfect combination of glitz and classic elegance and fit the Spanish-inspired venue perfectly. I knew it would photograph beautifully and I wasn’t disappointed! As a bonus it was light and easy to move around throughout the night.
