Erich Mcvey and Emily Riggs recently collaborated on a beautiful editorial by the sea, and I absolutely love the images they sent over. More from the dress designer, Emily Riggs…
For me there is nothing more inspiring, romantic nor mysterious than an endless enchanting sea of waves that appears to go on for an eternity. Never ending, and always beautiful. A perfect place to exchange vows.
These gorgeous images were captured by Erich McVey. Taken on one of the many beautiful rocky and rustic coastlines Oregon has to offer here in the Pacific Northwest. I’m always thrilled to work with such an inspiring photographer. It comes naturally for Erich to capture the magic and beauty in every photo. He always makes it happen, and that’s makes him so special!
The dress was made custom for this shoot. It’s French couture inspired, featuring a plunging V back line using imported French lace with eyelash detailing. The long sweeping skirt was made using crepe backed satin and soft ivory tulle. My main focus was to create a dress that was amorous but also refined.
The wire wrapped hair adornments and veils were custom made using a mix of Swarovski crystals, fresh water pearls, silk tulle, hand cut flowers and vines with touches of gold. These pieces were inspired by the romantic and rustic costal elements.
