What’s a gal to do when she falls in love with the grace and elegance of a Monique Lhuillier gown but not the price tag? For Elsa, the answer was thankfully the Monique Lhuillier Bliss Collection. Still capturing the gorgeous detailing and fine lace work at a more affordable price point, today’s featured bride found the dress of her dreams…and looked completely enchanting too. The Ceremony + Reception
We were married on September 21, 2013 in Leavenworth, WA at the Icicle Creek Music Center. Both our ceremony and reception were held in the state-of-the-art Canyon Wren Recital Hall at Icicle Creek Music Center near the Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort. We were drawn to this location because of its modern design and the wall made entirely of windows that look out into beautiful meadow and up towards the mountains we grew up with. Having grown up in Leavenworth, but now living in Seattle, we wanted a mix of both worlds: modern and outdoorsy.
Elsa’s Dress Search
For me, the most important part of the wedding day was the dress. I’ve fantasized about my dream wedding dress for as long as I can remember. I had a clear vision of what I wanted. In a seemingly endless sea of strapless dresses, I wanted something timeless and flattering. I knew I wanted something to show off my figure that had cap-sleeves, and I also knew that I wanted to have lace and beading creating an elegant look. I came across Monique Lhuillier’s designs in my searches online and was entranced by her designs. Unfortunately, when I saw the price points, I knew the dresses were way out of my budget. Luckily, Monique decided to create a lower-price point line called “Bliss” which features similar designs at much better prices. I found the dress I eventually chose for the wedding online at first, and knew I had to try it on. I did some research and learned that a local Seattle boutique was hosting a trunk show for Bliss by Monique Lhuillier. I was ecstatic and set-up an appointment. I tried on almost 10 dresses from the collection; saving my dream dress for last knowing it was still out of my price range. When I finally put it on, I instantly burst into tears. It is a moment I will never forget, that feeling of knowing that you finally found your dream dress that you will wear on your wedding day!
How Elsa Felt in Her Wedding Dress
If I had to describe my dress in three words, I would say it was flattering, timeless, and in my husband’s words: elegant.
Why Elsa Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
Though I am broken hearted to part with my dress, as a newly married couple, my husband and I are having trouble making ends meet-so we decided to put my dress up for sale. As much as I will miss the dress, I will never forget the memories created while wearing it!
