With a crumbling, historic mansion as the setting, this elegant wedding editorial inspires us to create, dark, moody color palettes and warm, intimate spaces for winter weddings. To create this distinctly old-world flair, the setting is crucial. Antique silver tableware heightens the ambiance, while a moody floral palette of plum, mauve and rich green compliment the wood and stone interior of the old building.
More than just appreciation for the obvious beauty of these images, this editorial elicits a warm, loving feeling. We can imagine your grandmother seated at one end of the table, holding your little sister’s hand while they celebrate your new marriage together.

“An Old World venue nestled in the countryside outside of Melbourne, Australia is the perfect scene for this elegant and intimate wedding editorial. Inspired by the crumbling stone and mullioned windows, Montsalvat became the focal point of this shoot and served as both venue and backdrop. The textures and palette of the space inspired everything from the florals to the stationery, the custom gown to the table decor. Inside at the intimate reception, rich florals and warm candlelight complimented the antique silver tableware and a whiskey bar and cheese station served for refreshment.
A custom MXM Couture gown suits the venue entirely and looked stunning cascading down the historic staircases. A vintage Rolls Royce perfectly matched the era and was the ultimate way for any bride to arrive and for the couple to depart together as husband and wife. While not always necessary, a different look for the reception is always a fun addition…and here our bride changed into a simple yet stunning Houghton gown (with a soft bun) for the reception and the couple’s stylish getaway.”
