Old Metropolitan Hall is a beautifully restored historic building in the heart of Charlottesville, Virginia. With it as my backdrop and inspiration, I set out to create a feeling of timelessness and romance while keeping with the era-inspired decor of the building itself. The venue showcases a lot of beautiful ironwork, so I knew we’d want to incorporate black into a palette of soft pastels and greenery. The architecture and interiors also informed our design: We mirrored the tin ceiling tile pattern in the table runner and even used crystal inspired by the chandeliers as the placecards. Loose florals paired with rose gold and touches of metallic created an organic yet polished look.
