Have The French Wedding Of Your Dreams Right Here At Home

At Once Wed, our aesthetic always leans toward the simple, the dreamy, and the refined. That’s why this elegant French wedding inspiration shoot (with a delicious warm autumn color palette) is right up our alley, and we couldn’t wait to share it with you.

Each element from this wedding inspiration shoot is stunning and perfectly chosen, from the historic mansion to the warm autumn color palette (caramel tones will always get us! Pairing it with white, green, brown and that touch of dark burgundy is such an elegant way to add warmth to a fall wedding). Refined touches have been added to the tablescape, like antique glassware, and it’s important to keep in mind that when you’re including antique styles into your wedding design, to do it with a slight hand: too much, and your tables might look a little like an estate sale. It’s always best to know when to pare back, just like this elegant design.

“Tudor Place, a historic mansion located in the heart of Georgetown, is a hidden gem. Completed in 1816, it was build in a federal American style, melding French influenced romantic classicism with traditional English forms and was one of America’s first National Historic landmarks. Walking up the symmetrical paths to the facade of this historic estate, surrounded by gardens of roses and greenery, transports guests to a gorgeous chateau in the bountiful French countryside. This intimate fall gathering was styled with organic French inspiration in mind to create an elegant, autumnal celebration.

From the croquembouche adorned with just sprig of greenery to the french poem “Roses” by Rilke, hand-written in organic calligraphy, every element was chosen with elegant minimalism in mind. Mila’s silk Alexandra Grecco gown was paired perfectly with a classic twist updo to highlight the open back and a stunning pear-shaped solitaire ring added just enough embellishment. Natural toned taper candles and a linen table runner juxtaposed with cut crystal glassware, silver flatware, and lush florals contributed to a curated, al fresco dining experience with the historic estate providing the perfect backdrop.”
