Deirdre + John | Claire Pettibone Wedding from David Olsthoorn Photography
It’s one thing to find a wedding dress that really suits your style and personality, but what about how the dress itself feels? Wearing ivory lace lined with blush silk charmeuse sounds divine. And all so beautifully designed as a 1920’s Art Deco inspired gown by Claire Pettibone…it’s no wonder today’s featured gown was Deirdre’s second and final dress she tried on. Paired with matching period style cloche veil, Deirdre’s entire look is gorgeous and streamlined and must have felt amazing!
The Ceremony We met in 2008, traveled to Africa together in 2009 and fell in love. John proposed to me on the 7th of August on a beach in Portugal. We had a religious ceremony in the church I made my first communion & confirmation in Bansha Co. Tipperary. John is in the military and he wore his uniform for the ceremony. He looked so handsome.
The Reception Our reception was held at the Aherlow House Hotel, a country hotel set in the middle of the forest in the Glen of Aherlow overlooking the Galtee Mountains. We had a beautiful cocktail reception on the balcony, followed by a five-course meal and then we danced the evening away. We also had a comedy act as a surprise for our guests and they really enjoyed it. The day and night went really fast. We went to Mexico and Las Vegas on our honeymoon, it was beautiful and Vegas was so much fun.
Deirdre’s Dress Search I tried on one other dress before Kristene. I loved this dress even before I had tried it on. In my dress I felt so elegant. It’s suited my style perfectly I felt so beautiful and it was so comfortable with the silk chemise underneath the lace.
How Deirdre Felt in Her Wedding Dress Elegant, Beautiful & Comfortable
Why Deirdre Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress It is very important to be comfortable in your dress. You must wear the dress not let it wear you. I decided to sell the dress as I will not ever wear it again & it’s so beautiful it’s a shame for it to be left in a box. It’s a stunning dress & if another bride would like to wear Kristene and give it her own personal touch I would be delighted to sell my dress.
