Growing up in a small town does not always mean a gal wants to plan a rustic, charmer of a wedding. For Daralyn, saying ‘I do’ to Cody meant creating a celebration full of sparkle, tulle, pink roses and a Pnina Tornai princess ball gown absolutely dripping with Swarovski crystals. To think too, that Daralyn originally bought an Allure wedding gown (but staying true to her vision of wearing a Pnina Tornai gown), Daralyn sold the Allure gown on PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com, found her own Pnina and suffered zero buyers remorse. Such a dream come true for today’s featured bride, I love that!
Daralyn + Cody | June 1, 2013 | Portland, MI | Dress Listing: Pnina Tornai
The Ceremony
Our ceremony was held in my hometown Portland, MI at the Portland St. Patrick Catholic Church. The same church my parents and grandparents were married in, so it was important to me I was married there too.
The Reception
The reception was held in Eagle, MI (7 miles from Portland) at the Eagle Hall near both family’s home towns. It was the perfect open space that we could decorate however we wanted and could bring our own alcohol and caterers in. This was important for budget reasons because my dress was so expensive!
Daralyn’s Dress Search
I knew I wanted a huge ball gown and I KNEW I had to have a Pnina Tornai…Originally, I purchased the Allure C186 ball gown, then realized it would not do and that I would not feel complete without a Pnina Tornai gown. So I sold the Allure dress on PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com and then purchased my very own Pnina. I have absolutely NO regrets on this purchase. You can thank “Say Yes To The Dress” for that one.
How Daralyn Felt in Her Wedding Dress
I felt like a real life princess and was given my dream wedding I’ve dreamt about since I was a little girl. We had a bling/whimsical theme and it was perfect! I felt flawless, whimsical, and like a princess!
Why Daralyn Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I decided to sell my dress because of how much I spent on it. When I bought the gown, I promised myself I would resell! Also it would be such a waste for this dress to just be sitting there in my closet (in which it would take up too much space) not being used. It’s too beautiful to be in a closet. I watched my mom keep her dress for years and even though she had it preserved, it still yellowed with time. As a result she ended up tossing it out. Ultimately, someone else needs to feel how I felt in this dress!
