Vera Wang set the bridal world abuzz when she debuted her “Witchcraft” Fall 2012 collection filled with black wedding gowns.
And while the use of black was a bold statement, it was more about being cutting edge, than it was a true reflection of what today’s brides are looking for.
That being said, wedding today are increasingly becoming about personal expression and less about following the traditions set by mom’s generation (cue the food trucks, cupcake towers and choreographed first dances). And today’s bride wants a gown that fits her personality and style – whether that means a white dress, a dress with a colored sash, or a non-white wedding gown.
David’s Bridal reports approximately 10% of gowns sold are a color other than white or ivory, and Romona Keveza reports 20% of gowns sold are non-white. And while these numbers are higher than what we’ve seen in the resale market, we definitely are seeing small increases in colored dresses as well.
If you are a bride looking for a gown with color, then take a look at these stunning PreOwned gowns. Pink, red, green and blue, there are definitely some beautiful options for the a bride looking to stand out.
