What a wonderful way to kick off the first week of May with a classic wedding set on the private Reserve Club in beautiful Palm Desert, California. Christine + Tobey are such an elegant couple surrounded by friends and family. And how special that Christine’s ten-year-old son was such a important part of the couple’s wedding day. We love that the nuptials included a sand ceremony to represent the “blending” together of this family of three. Don’t miss Christine’s stunning and sophisticated Lazaro wedding gown complete with lace bodice, satin and silk gown and a gorgeous light grey satin belt detailed in crystal beads. Enjoy!

The Ceremony
The day was sunny with scattered clouds (which made for excellent photos!) but it was quite windy on our big day! The ceremony was held at a gazebo located on a large grassy area with a water feature in the background. The venue was simply stunning with very little needed for decorations because the surroundings and gazebo itself were so beautiful. The bride’s 10-year-old son walked her down the aisle while Marc Cohen’s “True Companion” played in the background. Her son did a special handshake with the groom (his soon to be “Bonus Dad”) before handing off his mom. The ceremony also included a sand ceremony to represent the “blending” of this special family of three together. As the bride and groom kissed, Pharrel’s song “Happy” played and the guests gathered around the gazebo for hugging, dancing, and some group photos.
The Reception
Unfortunately, due to the threat of rain at 6pm, which would have been in the middle of dinner, the bride and her team had to make the decision to set up the reception indoors instead of having the “romantically lit outdoor setting” that had been planned. The team did a beautiful job recreating the setting inside and everyone loved the intimate feel of being gathered in the Governor’s Room at The Reserve Club. The guests enjoyed an amazing dinner of prime rib paired with grilled jumbo shrimp with stacked gratin potato and seasonal vegetables. A simple two-layer carrot cake decorated with succulents was displayed with the glittered word “love” on top. The children enjoyed small jugs of milk with moustache straws paired with freshly baked cookies. Adults had an extra sweet tooth satisfaction of mini red velvet cupcakes. The whole day was truly special and we hear over and over from many of our guests that our wedding was the most intimate, emotional, and heartfelt wedding that they had ever been to. That really made us feel good!
Christine’s Dress Search
I had tried on close to 30 different dresses at six different wedding shops! Being a bride who is in her 40’s, I wanted to find something flowy and romantic but with some “sexiness” and sophistication to it. I wanted it to be the right style for our venue and also wanted it to be COMFORTABLE! I was really struggling to find a dress that I really liked and felt was “the one.” I bought a dress and to make a long story short, it ended up a disaster. I was four weeks away from the wedding day, and I was panicked! I found a girl who was selling this gorgeous Lazaro because she had originally bought it for her wedding but ended up changing her mind and bought a different dress. I felt hopeful that this Lazaro could work when I saw that it was unaltered, with the tags still on, AND it was in the exact size I would need (I had tried on a few Lazaro dresses before so I knew what my size was for that label!). She let me come to her house to try it on…and it fit like a glove! I did not need to have any alterations done to it! I felt so lucky to find a dress at the last minute…one that fit me so well, had the sexiness AND sophistication I was looking for, and made me feel beautiful!

Why Christine Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I would love for another bride to experience what I did…that finding the dress that is “the one” could just be around the corner in an unexpected place!
