Today’s featured bride is an absolute vision in her Monique Lhuillier gown called ‘Shelby’. I love that Christine went with very subtle accessories (diamond earrings and a classic single string pearl bracelet) keeping her neckline free and feminine while her hair mirrors the whimsical rosette detailing of her gown. And don’t miss the array of cake! In addition to a five-tier wedding cake…Christine + Morgan were engaged outside the University of Texas Tower, so naturally a perfect choice for the theme of the groom’s cake. Traditional, fun and romantic – enjoy!

The Ceremony
The ceremony was held at Christ Church Cathedral in the heart of downtown Houston. With its lush dark woods and simple elegance, the cathedral is by far one of the most gorgeous churches I have ever seen. My mother walked me down the aisle to meet my husband to be. The ceremony was filled with laughs, tears, and prayers for the future. My husband and I served our guests communion after we were wed. It could not have been more perfect.
The Reception
After the ceremony, our guests walked a few blocks to the historic Crystal Ballroom at the Post Rice Lofts. The ballroom is old, glamorous, and full of personality. It was adorned with golds, soft pinks, and ivory accents to embody a simple and romantic feel. Escort cards were placed in corks my parents had saved from their visits to Napa Valley. As graduates of the University of Texas, the grooms cake was the famous UT Tower, the same place he had proposed 2 years earlier! Guests ate, drank, and danced late into the night. It was a fabulous celebration with our closest family and friends!
Christine’s Dress Search
I started my dress search completely set on a lace gown. I just HAD to wear lace. Twenty dresses later, I realized lace did not look so great on me! I then found a small boutique in Houston that carried Monique Lhuillier and soon fell in love with her girly, romantic, and elegant style. After trying on a few from her most recent collection, I feel in love with Shelby and knew I had found my dress!

Why Christine Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
As much as I would love to have my future daughter wear my dress someday, I know this is not reality! It does no good hanging in my closet for years and years to come. I loved my dress, and hope someone else can love and it enjoy it as much as I did!
