Isn’t it fabulous when a wedding’s theme just comes together naturally? The significance of water has always been important to Christina and Greg, the couple in this fabulous Maryland wedding, so their wedding venue choice was no coincidence. They dated on the water, were engaged near the water and were married by the water! A nautical theme was a natural complement, and navy blue details including bold stripes, miniature boats and tiny anchors accented the event. Let this water themed wedding sweep you away!

The Ceremony
Our ceremony was outdoors overlooking the Choptank River. Water came to be quite meaningful for us as we had many of our first dates around the harbor in Baltimore and got engaged on the bridge over the Chesapeake & Ohio canal in Georgetown. Greg is from Ohio and I’m from Maryland so it was symbolic. We wanted some decor but wanted the view to speak for itself.
The Reception
We worked with the nautical theme already in the ballroom. I DIYed the mason jars on the tables and the escort cards. Our music was very diverse ranging from latin music to oldies.
Christina’s Dress Search
I wanted a ballgown. I know that I’ll be able to wear long formal dresses in the future but how often can it actually be a big ballgown? I tried on many different styles, even liking the styles I thought I would greatly dislike! But, I kept coming back to the Amsale gown I had tried on.

Why Christina Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I love my dress but I know I will never rewear it. If I have a daughter later on, she will most likely be much taller than I am so I feel bad having this beautiful dress just sitting in the closet. I hope that it will make another bride just as happy as it made me!
