Old Hollywood glamor meets country club chic, this gorgeous wedding in St. Kitts and Nevis, West Indies is fabulous. We love Chelsey’s Lazaro ivory organza flounce bridal ball gown. The dramatic layered skirt is formal and elegant for a ceremony by the sea…with the added bonus of a custom high-low detachable front piece to make this dress become playful for a night of dancing and fun. Enjoy!

The Ceremony The ceremony was on the 17th green of the St. Kitts Royal Golf Club. It was the perfect blend of water meets sunset. I arrived in a 1957 Rolls Royce just as the sun was setting. As the song “Old Money” by Lana Del Ray began, I walked with both my parents towards an incredible scene of family and friends. Everything was white. White pillars local white flowers and a white aisle with white chairs. Even my perfect groom was in a white and black tux. It was pure and simple elegance. Laughter is a big part of the way we live our lives and our wedding vows were no exception. “For richer or…for richer” was what I repeated. The entire crowd roared with laughter; mostly because they knew I was serious!!!
The Reception Our reception took place in a chandelier filled ballroom. Again the all white theme continued with drapes from all corners sparkling with white lights. Our table was the main focus of the room as it was not only one long table for one hundred guests but was in a zigzag shape. The centerpiece was one long branch wrapped with lights surrounded with candles and orchids. It was a showstopper. Each place setting had a custom labeled cigar and handmade Morano glass wine stoppers. These were great gifts for our guests. The entire evening was centered on the dance floor that featured a custom monogram of our initials. The party did not stop – nor should it when you have an open bar, fantastic DJ and the best people. The evening ended with everyone out on the balcony lighting wish lanterns and letting them float away into the Caribbean sky. Overall we wanted our wedding to be an amazing experience for everyone. With two days of events leading up to our perfect day…everything was pure perfection!
Chelsey’s Dress Search
I tried on about fifteen dresses. I loved Lazaro’s style from the start. The dress I chose was nothing I imagined it would be. Once I put it on and looked in the mirror, I just knew this was it. My mom and grandmothers faces sealed the deal. As mentioned on the Lazaro website, the formal elegance of this gown was perfect for our wedding. And the way we were able to alter the dress with the removable front piece with a high/low style and detachable buttons…not only reflected my personality but made this dress one of a kind with a “WOW” sensation for the entrance into the reception and great for dancing into the late night!!!
How Chelsey Felt in Her Wedding Dress Surreal, Stunning, Blessed
Why Chelsey Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress I think it’s a great opportunity to allow someone else the chance to not only wear such an amazing designer gown but to feel how I felt wearing it on my wedding day. I couldn’t put a price on how I felt in my dress. My grandmother custom made my reception shoes and veil.
