This wedding sent to us by Lora and Eric Kelley and Augusta with Easton Events, is the perfect balance between country charm and outdoor elegance. We loved the overall feeling of this wedding, and the story behind the images is even better.
From Augusta Cole at Easton Events:
We at Easton loved working with Heather and Derek! They are such a dynamic couple and together they contributed so much inspiration and character to their charming Virginia countryside wedding. Both Charlottesville locals, the two set out to create a wonderful early summer evening for all of their guests to enjoy and indulge in the best of C’ville.
Nestled among the Blueridge Mountains, the couple chose Derek’s family farm, Wild Cat Hollow, to host their wedding. The wedding was a true celebration of all things local! Shawn Cossette of Beehive Events, designed a palette full of florals that would be bountiful and seasonal to the region in late May. C&O’s Chef Maupin sourced all of the menu ingredients from local farms and Heather and Derek even served “Local Libations” of Virginia wine and liquor.
Before the celebration, Heather and Derek were married at Heather’s childhood church in Downtown Charlottesville. Upon arriving at farm, guests were greeted with cocktails and canapés on a grassy knoll overlooking the mountain view. As the sun began to set, guests were invited over to the family barn that had been redefined for dinner and dancing. The guests lingered over a delicious family style seated dinner, and then transitioned outside to dance under stars and a gorgeous full moon!
It was such a pleasure to dream and plan with Heather and Derek. Their creative energy, love for one another, and thoughtful attention to their guests experience was felt by all!
