Here is a fun December wedding from downtown Albany, New York. Not being a huge fan of hot weather, Casey + Steve opted for a winter wedding, keeping their fingers crossed for a light snowfall and as Casey explains, ‘that’s exactly what we got!’. I love Casey’s flamenco style organza Lazaro gown…the rouched bodice and ruffled skirt from waist to the floor is so playful and feminine. Don’t miss the winter themed reception decor, like frosted pine cone place cards and wedding cake, silver branches set in crisp blue glass bottles and the very sweet table numbered family photos. Enjoy!

The Ceremony
Our wedding was held on December 1st, 2012 in downtown Albany, New York. I wanted to do something different, and since I don’t really care for the hot weather, we figured getting married in December was the perfect choice. We kept our fingers crossed for a light snowfall for our big day, and that’s exactly what we got! It made for some really magical pictures. Our ceremony and reception were held at the same location, an old bank-turned-banquet hall with high, beautiful ceilings and a huge bank vault that was transformed into a lounge. My bridesmaid’s father-in-law performed the ceremony. We skipped the traditional song choices in favor of songs by Coldplay and Pearl Jam. And in the end we wouldn’t have done a single thing differently.
The Reception
The most important thing to us was having people leave at the end of the night thinking “That was so Casey and Steve”, so we put a lot of time and effort into personalizing the whole day. I DIY’ed our centerpieces, escort cards, photobooth props and take-home favors.
Casey’s Dress Search
I went into dress shopping with a specific idea in my head as to what I wanted. I wanted something unique with a textured bottom and a slim silhouette. I found my dress in the first store I visited. It was beautifully different and had the texture I was looking for, but had much more volume than I had originally wanted. Despite that, I didn’t hesitate for a minute. I knew this was MY dress.
How Casey Felt in Her Wedding Dress
It made me feel elegant, unique, and playful all at the same time.
Why Casey Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
My dress brought me so much joy, and I wanted to sell it in the hopes that it could bring that same sense of joy to someone else (at a fraction of the cost!).
