This classic and traditional ‘Ocean State’ wedding in Providence, Rhode Island is a charming and intimate affair, complete with a nautical inspired color palette of crisp white and navy blue. I love that Cara + Bill met, fell in love and were engaged in Providence too (so sweet). Cara looks beautiful in her Tara Keely strapless wedding gown and her bridesmaids look fabulous in their navy blue floor length gowns with matching sweetheart neckline – such a pretty touch. Enjoy!

The Ceremony
Bill and I absolutely love Providence. We met, fell in love and got engaged in Providence, so we knew we had to get married there as well. Bill and I met towards the end of my senior year at Brown University. We decided to have our ceremony at Manning Chapel, a beautiful non-denominational chapel on Brown University’s campus overlooking the main green. The simple chapel was the perfect location for our intimate wedding.
The Reception
Our wedding reception was at the delicious and beautiful Waterman Grille. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Providence and the River View room, overlooking the Sakonnet River, is such a beautiful setting for a small and intimate wedding reception. The cozy room with candle lit tables, brick walls, and views of the water set the perfect mood for our wedding reception. Our favorite part of the night was definitely our sparkler grand exit. Although we were sad our wedding day was over, we couldn’t imagine a more beautiful day surrounded by our wonderful family and friends. There’s nothing better than walking hand in hand through an archway of sparklers as everyone is cheering us on as we begin our new life together.
Cara’s Dress Search
I am usually an indecisive person when it comes to large purchases so I thought it would take forever to decide on purchasing the right wedding gown. On my first (and only) wedding dress outing, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried on the Tara Keely gown and instantly fell in love. My mother and I immediately started crying when I came out of the dressing room and we knew it was the one. The dress was everything I was looking for – it was form fitting and made me feel sexy without revealing too much and the lace bodice and simple beaded belt added a classic and unique touch to the dress. On my wedding day I received many compliments and the dress looked beautiful in all the photos. And most importantly my husband loved the dress.

Why Cara Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
It was definitely a hard decision to sell my dress since I loved it so much but it seems like such a waste having it just hang in a closet for the rest of my life. I am hoping the dress can be worn and loved by another bride just as much as I have.
