There is something so endearing about today’s featured wedding in the woods. Maybe it’s the simplicity of an outdoor ceremony and reception in a rural park along the river. Or maybe it’s the overwhelming love and support from family members that contributed to the festivities and details for Candice + Tony’s intimate wedding. The groom’s sister performed the ceremony, siblings gave readings and the father of the bride made long tables out of barn doors (from the family farm) for the dinner. And to complete the family focus, dinner was actually served on Candice’s family china and silverware. So sweet!

The Ceremony
We had a small family ceremony under a large tree. Our families sat on hay bales covered with family quilts. The bride and her father arrived in a 1967 light yellow mustang. A solo violinist who played songs special to the couple provided music. The groom’s sister led the ceremony and the bride and groom wrote and exchanged their own vows. Each of the couple’s siblings performed a reading.
The Reception
The reception was held at a rural park along the Cumberland River. The bride’s father had made large tables out of barn doors from the family farm and these were placed under a large tree with strands of lights placed through and around the tree for lighting. The dinner included salads, shrimp, pork loin and brussel sprouts. These were served on the bride’s family’s china and silverware. The three-tiered wedding cake was vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream icing and faded from pink to white. The groom’s cake was chocolate with chocolate buttercream icing.
Candice’s Dress Search
I tried on at least 30 dresses. I chose this one because I felt like a princess when I tried it on and couldn’t stop thinking about how I would look in this dress! I also loved the designer and her attention to details like the pockets on the dress and the exposed zipper…and the floral print liner that I got to pick out!

Why Candice Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I had my magical day in the dress and that’s over. I would rather it make someone else happy than just sit in my closet gathering dust.
