Pretty in purple is what Annirose and Christian’s autumn wedding was! Annirose’s soft, full-skirted Jim Hjelm gown with was the perfect complement for both the classic church ceremony and country club reception. This royal purple wedding is full of picture perfect moments, but I especially love the drama of their reception venue with those vaulted ceilings and uplighting!

The Ceremony
We had a simple yet elegant ceremony at the First United Methodist church in Waukesha, WI. We had a string trio playing, one reading and about a 30 minute ceremony. It was very intimate, with only about 80 guests attending.
The Reception
Our reception was rustic, sophisticated and personal. It took place under the large wooden beamed vaulted ceiling in the clubhouse at The Legend at Brandybrook. The room also featured a mahogany bar and uplighting on stone pillars with flower petals and floating candles as accents. We used bird cages as our cardholder and to receive marriage advice from our guests.
Annirose’s Dress Search
I thought I knew exactly what I wanted: lace everywhere, detailing on the back, and definitely not strapless! However, once I tried on dresses like that, I hated most of them on me! The first dress I tried on ended up being “the” dress and it was STRAPLESS of all things! It was the perfect combination that exemplified all of my different sides: modern, classic, and romantic.
How Annirose Felt in Her Wedding Dress
Stunning, delicate, romantic.
Why Annirose Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
Even though I fell in love with my dress more than I ever thought possible, I just don’t see the purpose of storing it for 30 years shrink wrapped for no-one to enjoy. (What are the chances my daughter will want to use it? I didn’t use my mom’s!) It was such an amazing part of our wedding that I want nothing more than to share that with another bride and hope she finds the same amount of joy from it and feels just as beautiful as I did!
