The Ceremony
South Branch Tavern and Grille, our ceremony venue seamlessly combined my awe of urban architecture and desire for serenity. The Princess Bride theme cued my walk towards a beaming Brad, ready to profess and commit under our enchanted arch. After sobbing through my vows, we left the aisle, finally sharing the a last name. The Star Wars End Title and a sea of bubbles accompanied our exit. What’s bliss without a hint of nerd?
The Reception
Our cocktail hour and reception was also stationed at South Branch. Their décor and presentation mirrored the minimal feel we craved. Speeches were delivered, tears were shed and incredible fare was savored by all. Once plates were cleared and guests traveled to the music, the night blurred.
Twirling around the dance floor with my best friend/husband in front of friends and family made for an indescribable coda to the best day of my life.
Amethyst’s Wedding Dress Search
I tried on about 10 dresses and picked my dress at the first boutique we visited. I knew I wanted a Hayley Paige gown (I love her work) and actually went in thinking I would like the Guindon gown the most. The woman who was helping me that day suggested the Keaton gown and after trying that on I was hooked. I wanted a bit of glam and something that was a bit unusual – I definitely got that with my dress!
