A Secret Garden Inspired Wedding Reception

There’s something very special about a lush, overgrown reception venue, and of course, when it’s all taking place outdoors and in New Orleans, everything about a wedding feels that much more special. With unique ideas for your wedding reception (such as the greenery-festooned seating!), this inspirational wedding shoot takes a twist on a secret garden inspired wedding and modernizes it.

From the design team:
“Set in the romantic Garden District of old New Orleans, the inspiration behind this shoot is a focus on the intricate details of the wrought iron balcony of Terrell House, and the feminine structure of the lace Sarah Janks gown with elongated sleeves. Aiming for an unexpected twist on a secret garden theme, we incorporated wild and ethereal blooms in an asymmetrical centerpiece, and gave an overgrown feeling to the bentwood chairs by adding smilax and greenery to the base. Keeping the linen and elements of the tabletop simple was key, since the environment itself – the intricate architecture of the Terrell House Mansion alongside the textures of the brick and verdant landscaping – is so rich in detail. Soft romantic hues were punctuated by deep burgundy and merlot blossoms providing depth and visual interest to the design.”
