A Romantic NYC Proposal

Since it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to feature a super romantic wedding proposal.  I contacted Sarah Pease from Brilliant Event Planning – and being a proposal planner she, of course, had the perfect one to share.

Proposals are becoming events in themselves.  And grooms are loving the chance to plan this once in a lifetime moment and make it truly memorable.  I say the groom in Sarah’s story did just that….

Vince came to me wanting an amazing proposal for his fashion forward, NYC loving girlfriend Sooah. To pull off the proposal in style, I found the super-exclusive penthouse at the Mondrian Soho, which has beautiful floor to ceiling windows and views of downtown Manhattan. It has previously hosted dinners for pro-athletes, parties for A-list designers and had a killer 360 degree view of the city – it was the perfect backdrop for Vince’s proposal!

I designed the marriage proposal with her love of NYC and fashion in mind.  The perfect intersection of these to elements were the iconic I <3 NY t-shirts and after a lot of reconnaissance, I was thrilled to find them in Sooah’s favorite color: pink!  A custom-created shim displayed the backdrop of pink shirts with a single, white t-shirt proclaiming I <3 Sooah.  To continue the New York concept, I brought in three ice sculptures of iconic NYC landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty, the Chrysler Building, and the “LOVE” sculpture added to the overall look. Shades of pink ribbon created a subway art piece using pictures of Vince and Sooah as stops along the way. A personalized yellow taxi cab and an MTA Train Status key were small but meaningful details created just for the couple. Vince and Sooah entered the penthouse and he proposed with a gorgeous sparkler from Harry Winston.  The best part?  She said “Yes!”

You can see the whole proposal on 15 Minutes of Frame.  (Watch how many times Sooah sneeks a peak at her new ring.  So adorable).

May your Valentine’s Day be just as romantic!
