Allyson and Nate’s autumn engagement session with Carmen Santorelli Photography in Manhattan is inspiring for any couple who loves wine! Allyson says, The day of our October engagement shoot felt more like a gorgeous July afternoon. When we arrived at City Winery, Carmen was already there, snapping some shots of the barrels and art. It was only the second time we had met her, but it felt like we were catching up with an old friend.
She took the first few photos of Nate, while makeup artist Erica Ogawa added the final touches to my makeup. Nate seemed so relaxed, as my stomach began to churn – what if we didn’t smile enough, or too much?! Carmen told us to act like we were on our first date, which was 12 years ago. We were a little rusty, but I think it worked.
The next three hours flew by, from the streets around the Seaport, to Pier 17, to the Brooklyn Bridge. Staring into Nate’s eyes for so long, I remembered why I fell in love with him, and why he has been my best friend since I was 16. Carmen guided us through every pose, and was dedicated to capturing each shot perfectly. The only hitch was when my heels kept getting stuck between the deck boards on the pier!
It was a better day than we could have imagined, and resulted in such fun memories that will last forever.
