The Ceremony
We chose Phuket to hold our destination wedding as it’s our favourite Thailand vacation. Most of our 70 guests flew in from Singapore, and a few others from other parts of the world.
The ceremony was held at the lawn of the hotel. We had unblocked views of the Andaman sea as our backdrop. The theme was white and gold, so we had gold tiffany chairs with white rose corsages tied to them, and a ceremony arch was adorned with white flowers. After the ceremony, the guests hung out at the pergola for cocktails and also a lot of photo-taking of the beautiful sunset.
The Reception
The reception was held at the terrace of the Italian restaurant at the hotel, La Sirena. The terrace, being strategically placed right at the point of the cliff, means we got a panoramic view of the sea and the sky, with a steady sea breeze. The fireworks display looked amazing because we had unblocked views of the sky.
For the table setting, we had white orchids, white hydrangeas, and white roses in glass vases with gold ribbon accents. We transferred the chairs used at the ceremony to the dinner, so the white and gold theme was consistent throughout from the ceremony. The dinner naturally transformed into an after party when the DJ started, There was a lot of dancing. We remember a dance-off, and there was even an impromptu congo line at one point (we had a lot of alcohol, so that helped).
Yvonne’s Wedding Dress Search
I tried on about 25 dresses before I found the dress. Comfort was key. I wanted to be able to move around comfortably and be able to dance freely without sweating buckets. As for style, I wanted understated chic. It was important that the dress be able to withstand the test of time. It has to be timeless so that 50 later when we look at photos I would still look chic regardless of wherever fashion will be at that point.
I knew it was my wedding dress the moment I put on the Monique Lhuillier Intrigue dress. It felt really light and luxurious on my skin. The bodice is extremely flattering for my body type (I have small boobs) and the shape of the dress made me look much taller (I am only 1.58m tall). I also bought the train attache of the Monique Lhuillier Harper dress, which I hooked onto the back of my dress, adding a dramatic effect for the ceremony. It turned out to be such a great idea because I ended up with two different looks!

Why She’s Selling Her Wedding Dress
I’m not one to hold on to physical items. The best memories are in my head, and in this case, I have beautiful photos and a video to remember my wedding day by. And besides, I would love to have someone else to be able to enjoy this dress like I have, and at a fraction of the price!
