Christina and Tom had a beachy-keen wedding Down Under! A casual ceremony alongside the ocean and peach accents (real and in the color palette) with rustic touches kept the reception relaxed and fun. We’re loving Christina’s gorgeous Monique Lhuillier Candy gown as well — the ethereal layers looked stunning as they were windswept by the sea breezes. A perfect choice for this coastal Aussie wedding.
Christina + Tom | February 14, 2014 | Port Stephens, New South Wales, Australia | Dress Listing: Monique Lhuillier, Candy
The Ceremony
The ceremony was on a lawn that looked out over the beach and bushland. It was perfect. We had 8 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen and 9 flower-children. My twin sister officiated the wedding and we had different blessings & readings from friends and family who are from different faiths.
The Reception
The reception was on the headland looking out onto the ocean. It was in a huge tent with wooden floors and clear walls so you could see the ocean.
Christina’s Dress Search
I tried on maybe 20 or 30 dresses, and watched A LOT of Say Yes to the Dress. I chose my dress because when I put it on I could really imagine walking down the aisle in it. It was comfortable and light, unique and stunning and it really fit our coastal location.

Elegant, floaty, beautiful.
Why Christina Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I knew from the beginning that I wanted a reception dress as well (you only get married once after all!) so I budgeted for selling the ceremony dress to pay off the reception dress. I’m so sad to part with it but I just hope someone else gets to love it as much as I did.
