Romance meets high style in this charming wedding Down Under. Krista and Rob surprised guests by whisking them away by ferry to a private island for their “I Do’s.” Then guests celebrated at a lakeside reception where laugher, dancing and warm toasts to the bride and groom made it a night to remember. What are the little details I love most from this wedding? How about the coordinated style of bridesmaids and groomsmen, with just the right pop of color found in red bow ties and dress sashes. Or the fun confetti decorated cake and test tubes of candy as party favors. A sweet celebration indeed!

The ceremony
Our wedding ceremony was held on a private island (unbeknownst to our gests who mingled and ate gelati before being shuffled onto a ferry).
The reception
The reception was held at Regatta point, overlooking a lake. A jazz band and fairy lights inside and out made for beautiful atmosphere. For table decorations, we sorted 30kg of M&Ms by color (thanks team!) and had test tubes filled with candy as gifts.
How Krista found her dream wedding dress
When I started the dress hunt, I had no idea what I was looking for. I was drawn to a mix of modern and vintage styles but nothing was quite right. I must have visited every bridal store in San Francisco! It sounds like a cliche but when I tried on Dora, I knew it was the one. I just loved wearing it. I didn’t want to take it off.

Why she decided to sell her wedding dress
I love the dress but I think it’s silly being attached to something that will only gather dust in my closet. I’d have loved the opportunity to buy this dress second hand, so it’d make me happy to see it go to someone else. It’s also been a bit of a lucky charm. Our wedding worked out so well. It was forecast rain for the entire week in the lead-up to the wedding but somehow we had the most beautiful weather on the day.
