Before we look at how Stella York began, we need to go back to the roots. Chief Creative Officer Martine Harris decided to launch her own fashion company with her husband Wayne in 1992. They merged her experience with bridal design and his talent for business to create Essense Designs.
From there, Essense of Australia was born as their first label, followed by Martina Liana. It wasn’t until years later that the duo felt they wanted to expand even more.
