From Jennifer Weinman Photography: “When Lucas and Leah got engaged and started planning their wedding, it wasn’t long before Leah jetted off to the UK for a semester abroad. Planning long distance didn’t stop her (she’s an event planner, after all!) and she even managed to coordinate a destination engagement photoshoot in London! We planned several iconic locations throughout London (after all, it was Lucas’ first trip to Europe!) and also scouted out a secret garden (St. Dunstan in the East) for some of our favorite shots. It was an epic full day engagement shoot, a truly once in a lifetime memory for these two to share together!”
A London destination engagement session
We incorporated the fur because my wedding will have a Gatsby/old Hollywood feel. I am asking attendees to break out their most fabulous fur coats, scarves, hats, etc. We also wanted to tie in the color scheme of the wedding with my navy blue skirt and the grey London fog of the city. I have a background in ballet and dance, and never turn down an opportunity to wear a whimsical tutu or ballet-style top! In fact, my bridesmaids will be wearing the same look in different colors with a full length skirt! The shirt is from a local boutique in my hometown that my friend’s mom owns. Lucas even wore my dad’s bowtie! The trench coat encapsulates the essence of London and the U.K. – you can’t be in the U.K. and take photos at Parliament without a fabulous trench coat! Plus, the plaid wool blanket scarf, and short rain boots – I wore these all throughout my semester abroad. The suit for Lucas, and velvet full-length dress was to bring us back in time to the roaring ’20s again with the fur stole to foreshadow our wedding. Overall, the greys and blues of foggy/hazy London are an ode to our wedding color palette full of slate blue, greys, winter white, and navy! – Leah
