Come with me. from Josh Gooden on Vimeo.
We love the fall and seeing so many beautiful inspiration shoots from creatives around the country that embrace the rich colors of Autumn. This lovely shoot from Lora Kelley and Joey Kennedy is the epitome of fall elegance. We hope you can glean some new ideas and twists on fall wedding decor.
From Lora Kelley:
Flannery O’Conner said, “The basis of art is truth, both in manner and in mode.”
Mallory and I started dreaming about this concept probably 6 months ago. We were talking to Joey about doing something in Virginia in the fall and had been working with Stephanie Fishwick for a few editorial pieces. I was simultaneous talking with my friend Yolonda about natural hair, and the movement of natural hair in our culture. All of us wanted to do something romantic and fallcolororiented. I had a model who I fell in love with. (her hair!) We had the pergola taken in with how the light bore through the shades, and Stephanie was doing a lot of marbling and wanted to incorporate that into a paper suite.
As artists, we have the power to write truths into the fabric of our culture. It is one of the most powerful abilities we have as people. To create something and to share it, is to write a line in a story a story about where we are and a story that shapes where we are going.
From these prose, be they visual, audible, internal we build a current truth an artful moment. It’s a simple shoot with simple people and simple ideas, but’s also about honesty and beauty and love.
