Ines and Alex were married in Bayona, Galicia (a beautiful region in the North West of Spain), in a personalized wedding filled with couture ideas that we’re sure will inspire you. Many of our favorite details revolve around the fashion: the bride chose to have her mother and sister’s gowns, along with her bridal gown, custom-made, taking inspiration from the Paris Opera Ballet for the styling and design details. The sleek simplicity and sheer sleeves of her bridal gown were the perfect pairing with an antique veil from the 19th century and luxurious velvet heel, and contrasted beautifully with the church’s elaborate 13th century architecture.
A little more detail from the bride:
“Both my husband and myself are from Spain but live in the US now, so we decided to make Galicia our wedding inspiration. For example all the floral arrangements were made with typical plants from Galician forests, even my bouquet.
I had been very nervous the weeks before the wedding, mainly because my husband and I had been apart (he in USA and me in Spain) for 2 months before the day of the wedding, so he could not be that involved in the preparation. On the wedding day, however, I forgot everything and was so happy to be surrounded by many people that I love. It was truly a very special day.”
