Heather and Daniel’s April engagement session in San Diego included their favorite things: sports, the outdoors and each other, of course! Studio Sequoia captured their love story, and the bride-to-be shares it in her own words.
We actually met online (I know, odd!), met up at Starbucks and instantly had a connection. From there we went to dinner then to Mission Beach where we had our first kiss. He proposed by redoing our whole first date locations, and proposing on the beach at Mission Beach. It was totally unexpected and wonderful. Honestly, he is the best man I have ever met, as any woman says about her fiancé. Coming from a string of not-so-great relationships, I’d say he absolutely saved my heart and restored my trust in men. I am super lucky. We are really goofy, very laid-back, get along with everyone, and enjoy the little things. He is in the Marine Corps and recently returned from a year-long deployment in Afghanistan. We plan on having a very romantic, traditional wedding that incorporates the Marine Corps. My brother was killed in Afghanistan 2 years ago, so we are very proud of our military ties. We love to laugh, that was one of the most important parts of our session… incorporating our love of laughing. We’re pretty outdoorsy, so whenever we can get out and kayak, hike, road trip, we definitely do it. We are huge sports fanatics and both played college sports. I think our favorite times are watching football games or baseball games together… hence the bit of sports theme we threw in there. Our story is like a dream, I hope you enjoy the photos. – Heather
